Hello, I'm Josie Mae.  

I'm a trainee creative arts psychotherapist with over five years experience teaching piano and voice. After completing my degree in songwriting I pursued my interest in mindfulness studying sound therapy. 

Sound meditation is a way to relaxation and calming the mind. The intention of sound meditation is to help you reach an altered state of consciousness, hopefully a shift from a beta brainwave state to something slower. We experience theta brainwave state between sleep and wakefulness. In this state we experience an expansive flow of thoughts. The approach to sound therapy I trained in uses the language of resonance, release, reflect. Following the meditation, we can talk or use arts methods to express and be with insights or it can simply be a way to relax.
